Commemorative Tree/Bench Program

Commemorative Tree Program

Donations are gratefully accepted by the Parks and Recreation Department for the continued beautification of our parks, golf course, and city facilities.

Trees are an integral part of everyone’s life, because of the cooling their shade provides, habitat for wildlife, the economic value they bring to the community, and the sheer beauty they provide. That’s why the planting of a tree is a perfect way to mark a special occasion such as a birth or marriage or to commemorate the life of a friend or relative with a living memorial.

A donation of $250.00 or more will be used to buy a specific tree for planting in a park or the golf course. Donations will be recognized by an engraved plate at The Pointe at Ballwin Commons or the golf course with a message indicating that a tree has been planted to commemorate a special event.

Contributors will also receive a map showing the tree’s location. If a donation is made in honor of someone, a card will be sent to the family notifying them of the gift. Trees are planted semi-annually at the end of March and the end of October and are guaranteed for a two-year period.

The Missouri Department of Conservation has recommended the following species in our park areas:

 Oak Species Yellowwood Flowering Dogwood
 Blackgum Japanese Zelkova Eastern Redbud
 Katsura Downy Serviceberry

The City of Ballwin thanks you for your interest in and support of our park system.
