Pointe Programs Postponed - COVID-19 Update

This afternoon, St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page issued a State of Emergency in St. Louis County due to COVID-19. The St. Louis County Department of Public Health issued the following order:

It is hereby declared unlawful for any person to organize or to attend an intentional gathering of 250 people or more in a single space or room. It is further provided that any person who organizes a gather of 249 people or less shall take appropriate action to minimize risk to the greatest extent possible by implementing and enforcing mitigation measures, including but not limited to social distancing, limiting the time period of gatherings, cleaning of all surfaces, and posting of signs. It is further declared unlawful for any person to organize or to attend an intentional gathering of more than 10 individuals of high-risk groups as that term may be defined by the Director of Department of Public Health.”

Based on the recommendations set forth in this Executive Order, the City of Ballwin will be indefinitely postponing the following programs at The Pointe at Ballwin Commons (#1 Ballwin Commons Circle, Ballwin, MO 63021), effective starting 5 p.m. today (Friday, March 13): 

  • Lunch and Bingo
  • LOAP
  • Pickleball
  • Bridge
  • All Water Fitness Classes
  • All Group and Specialized Fitness Classes

Currently, all facilities remain open normal business hours. However, we understand this situation is ever evolving and we assure you we are actively monitoring the situation. We will rely on recommendations provided by the St. Louis County’s Department of Public Health and will notify you with any additional updates to City facilities, programs, and events. Nothing is more important than the health and safety of everyone in this community. 

We urge you to remain vigilant and continue to follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC. You can help prevent coronavirus infection by washing your hands often, refraining from touching your face, avoiding close contact with people who are experiencing symptoms, cleaning and disinfecting frequently, and staying home if you’re sick. 

St. Louis County has established a hotline number (314-615-2660) if you believe you are symptomatic or have any questions regarding the virus. Additionally, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services activated a statewide public hotline (877-435-8411) which is being operated by medical professionals and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
