Ballwin Celebrates Raymond L. Sontag Day

This weekend was special. Sunday was officially “Raymond L. Sontag Day” in the City of Ballwin.

A proclamation declaring December 16, 2018 as “Raymond L. Sontag Day” was signed by Mayor Pogue and presented to Raymond in celebration of his 100th birthday. He was born December 16, 1918.

Raymond is a WWII veteran and was stationed in North Africa as an airplane mechanic. He married his beloved wife Ruth after his final tour and settled down to live 50 years of his life in Ballwin.
He was Ballwin’s Outstanding Senior in 2015, served for many years at his church, in the Lions Club, and in his subdivision.

Raymond is a true gentlemen, a patriot, and a family man. And as many attested, he’s the epitome of why they call his the greatest generation. For your 100 years of life, your sacrifice, and your legacy, thank you Raymond.

Ballwin celebrates with you, happy birthday!!
