10.25.18 Board Meeting Recap

A Ballwin Board of Aldermen meeting was held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 7 p.m. A few highlights from the meeting are below as selected by staff. Official meeting minutes will be posted upon approval after the next Board of Aldermen meeting.

Presentations

Finance Officer Denise Keller gave a presentation about remaining miscellaneous funds as part of the larger budget discussion for 2019. More will be discussed about the budget at future meetings.

Citizen’s Comments

A Ballwin resident spoke to the board during citizen comments in regards to in-ground fire pits within city limits.

Legislation

  • Bill No. 4008 in regards to amending the application process and permit fees for excavation permits passed with unanimous approval.
  • Bill No. 4009 in regards to deleting references to the city engineer in grading, erosion and sediment control regulations passed with unanimous approval.

Mayor’s Report

Mayor Pogue announced a long serving member on the Planning and Zoning Commission will be moving out of Ballwin, leaving a vacancy in Ward 3. He also announced there are still two vacancies to be filled on the Board of Adjustment.

City Administrator’s Report

City Administrator Hanson reported the street lights on Manchester road are currently being reinstalled. He also reminded the board and the public that leaf collection will begin soon (Monday, November 5).

 

The next Ballwin Board of Aldermen meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 12 at 7 p.m.
