North Pointe Reopening FAQs

Last Updated 6.9.20

Our North Pointe swim season starts on Monday, June 15 with restricted hours. We recently announced the new operational changes put in place by St. Louis County in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Here are a few of the commonly asked questions we’ve received regarding the opening of the facility.

What are the new hours?

We are offering two, 2.5-hour open swim sessions every day (Monday - Sunday) from 12 - 2:30 p.m. and 3 - 5:30 p.m. The 30-minute break in between the two swim sessions will allow time for the first group to exit safely and for our staff to sanitize and disinfect our facility.

How many people are allowed in the facility at once?

We are required by St. Louis County to reduce capacity to 25% of our normal approved bather load for the facility, so a maximum of 315 guests will be allowed in each swim session! Please note this does not include staff.

Are masks required?

Yes! Per St. Louis County guidelines, "patrons and staff shall wear fabric or disposable face coverings when not in the pool or eating at dinning tables." You are NOT allowed to wear a mask in the pools.

What pools will be open? Why is the Splash Pad closed?

The Competition Pool, Leisure Pool, Lazy River, Water Slides, and Kiddie Pool will be open. Please note, the bucket in the Kiddie Pool will be on, but access to the play structure will be blocked off. Regarding the Splash Pad, St. Louis County stated in their reopening guidelines, “due to the inability to safely separate household groups in these environments, spray grounds, splash pads and water playgrounds should remain closed." You will need to contact St. Louis County for specifics on the operational guidelines they issued.

Are any non residents currently allowed admission into the facility?

Due to the capacity restrictions put in place by County, we are limiting admission to current pool pass holders, Platinum and Pointe Plus membership holders, and Ballwin residents.

Non residents can enter if they meet the following criteria:

  • Are current Platinum and Pointe Plus members at The Pointe
  • Purchased a 2020 Pool Pass before March 17, 2020
  • Are registered for one of the following programs: Swim Lessons, Dive Clinic, and Swim Club

Please note, this is not a final decision. We hope to be able to allow non-resident entry in the future and will regularly evaluate our operations throughout the summer.

I am a Ballwin Resident and currently do not have a Resident ID or Resident Pool Pass, but I want to visit North Pointe this summer. What do I need to do?

From June 6 - 14 (specific hours below), we will sell and renew Parks & Recreation Resident ID Cards and Resident Pool Passes. A Parks & Recreation Resident ID Card will let you pay the daily admission fee (rates on our website). You will need to bring a current gas, water, electric, or sewer bill in order to prove residency. You will have the option of:

  • Purchasing a Resident Pool Pass (rates on our website)
  • Renewing a Resident Pool Pass (rates on our website)
  • Purchasing a Parks & Recreation Resident ID Card for $5/person
  • Renewing a Parks & Recreation Resident ID Card for $1/person

Renewals and sales will take place at North Pointe on June 6, 7, 13, and 14 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and June 8 - 12 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

I am a Ballwin Resident with a Pool Pass or ID Card. Can I bring non resident guests?

Unfortunately, you are not allowed to bring any non resident guests at this time.

I have a Ballwin mailing address, but am not actually a Ballwin resident. Would I be considered a resident at North Pointe?

We are requiring everyone bring a current gas, water, electric, or sewer bill in order to prove residency. On your bill, it will say whether you live in the City of Ballwin, another city, or Unincorporated St. Louis County. If it does not say the City of Ballwin, we are not allowing admission to North Pointe at this time.

Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Will entry preference be given to those with a Pool Pass?

Priority will be given to those with a Platinum Membership, Pointe Plus Membership, and a Pool Pass at opening. Before each session, there will be two lines (one for Platinum & Pointe Plus Members/Pool Pass holders and one for Daily Admission). Once the first line enters the facility, daily guests will be allowed to enter.

Can I reenter the water park for the second swim session?

Yes, guests may get back in line to reenter the water park after exiting the facility after the first session.

Due to the shortened season and limited swim sessions, will you be pro rating my pool pass?

We are extending the expiration date of our pool passes. Pool passes will expire a year from the date of activation (ex. June 15, 2020 - June 15, 2021).
