9.12.18 This Week's Board Meeting Recap

A Ballwin Board of Aldermen meeting was held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 7 p.m. A few highlights from the meeting are below as selected by staff. Official meeting minutes will be posted upon approval after the next Board of Aldermen meeting.

Presentations

Finance Officer Denise Keller gave a presentation to the board in regards to employee compensation for the 2019 budget. Staff recommends a 3% increase which is in line with surrounding municipalities. Future budget discussions will follow.

Consent Items

The lone consent item on the agenda is approved regarding the purchase of salt to fill Ballwin’s salt dome to capacity as preparation for the winter season begins.

Mayor’s Report

Mayor Pogue mentioned his appointment to the Municipal League Legislative Affairs Committee. The first meeting of that committee is this week and he will update the board in the future.

City Administrator’s Report

City Administrator Hanson said the new light poles for Manchester Road have arrived, he thanked employees for coordinating the Flags for Forgotten soldiers event earlier this summer, and he mentioned today is Chief Scott’s birthday

Closed Session

The board moved into closed session to discuss employee matters under Section 610.021(3) RSMo.

The next Ballwin Board of Aldermen meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 24 at 7 p.m.
