North Pointe Swim and Dive Lessons

Each class session is designed to accommodate 3-5* participants over the course of 8 class meetings. However, swim lesson classes will never be cancelled due to low enrollment. Classes with 1 or 2 participants enrolled will have an accelerated class schedule because of the ability to progress more quickly through each skill. Classes with 2 participants will meet for 6 class periods, and classes with 1 participant will meet for 4 class periods.

Come experience the benefits of our American Red Cross swim lesson program! Our small class sizes provide greater opportunity for individual practice and feedback.

Seahorses

Monday-Thursday

Designed for child 3 years and under, this level gets the parents involved. The focus is to get the children comfortable in the water with the help and support of an adult family member. All of this is done through songs, games and fun activities that the young ones will enjoy. A parent MUST be in the water with the child. (maximum of 12 students per class)
   
Tadpoles
Age 3 - 6 yrs

This class is designed to get you comfortable in the water away from the parents and to develop positive attitudes, good swimming habits, and safe water practices in around water. This is all done while learning the basics of going under water, floating, gliding, and the arm/leg actions that they will incorporate in future levels. Most of the skills are done with support, either by the instructor or flotation device. (maximum of 5 students per class)
   
Clownfish
Age 3 - 6 yrs

Now you can start to really have fun by learning to swim on your own. This class is designed to slowly get rid of the supports and teach you to be more independent in the water by swimming on your own. This class will build on the skills learned in Tadpoles. (maximum of 5 students per class)
   
Stingrays
Age 3 - 6 yrs

Good Job! You are swimming all by yourself now. But practice makes perfect and that’s what this level is designed to do. This class will focus on refining the strokes you’ve already learned so you can swim farther while also teaching you a few new tricks to put up your fin. (maximum of 5 students per class)
   
Sea Turtles
Age 7 - 16 yrs

Designed with the older kids in mind, this class will teach you good swimming habits and safe water practices in and around the water. This is achieved, all while learning the basic skills needed to swim on your own. The focus is to have you swimming short distances all on your own. (maximum of 5 students per class)
   
Sword Fish
Age 7 - 16 yrs

This class is designed to build on what you have learned as a Sea Turtle. So pull out your sword and get ready to fight that water and swim farther. This class will focus of refining the strokes you’ve already learned while teaching you a few new things that will allow you to go the distance. (maximum of 5 students per class)
   
Barracudas
Age 4 - 16 yrs

You are a lean, mean, swimming machine now and nothing can stop you. This is a pre-competitive class and will focus on refining your strokes even farther, increasing your swimming endurance, learning new strokes as well as flip turns, all to prepare you for a club swim team such as the Ballwin Blue Dolphins Swim and Dive Team or for swimming fun that you can enjoy for the rest of your life. Either way, you’re a swimmer now. (maximum of 5 students per class)
   

Private Swim Lessons

All private lessons are one on one with an experience instructor.  Lesson times are flexible to allow the adequate scheduling and planning. Request forms are available at The Pointe Front Desk, or North Pointe during season. Payment is required at time of submitting the request. Group Diving Lessons

Beginner Diving
Ages: 5 – 16 yrs

Monday-Thursday
10:00 – 10:30 am

Beginner diving lessons provide your child with the basics of safe and progressive diving. They will learn the proper techniques such as approaches, entries, positions and safety on and around the diving boards. No diving experience needed.
Intermediate Diving
Ages: 5 – 16

Monday-Thursday
10:30 – 11:00 am
Intermediate diving lessons provide safe opportunities for your child to learn dives and allows for additional practice. Our objective is to prepare your child for the competitive side of diving. We will teach dives in all categories and positions. We will work on proper entry and lead-ups to more difficult dives. This is a great pre-requisite for the dive team!
Little Splashers 
Ages: 0 – 5 yrs

Enjoy splashing around in “Bucket Falls” children pool on quiet summer mornings without the crowds. Guardians must be in swim attire and located in or around the pool. Members are free.
