Municipal Court

The Ballwin & Winchester Municipal Divisions are holding in-person court proceedings. 

If the address on your ticket is not current, please update your address with the Court immediately by email to:   , as this will allow you to receive all necessary notices from the court. Please contact the court office at (636) 227-9468 for any questions.

Payments made in person will only be accepted between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If you wish to pay your Ballwin or Winchester violation(s) out of court, please visit www.courts.mo.gov to see if your ticket(s) can be paid online.  Payments can also be made by mail.

Municipal Court Information

The Ballwin Municipal Court is a Division of the 21st Judicial Circuit Court of the State of Missouri. Ballwin Court holds its sessions two Tuesdays each month at 5:30 p.m. (subject to change), at the Ballwin Government Center (1 Government Ctr). The court business office is also located at the Ballwin Government Center. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., payments are accepted 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Please Note: On court days, the court business window closes at 4 p.m. to set up for court and will reopen at 5:15 p.m. Doors open for the courtroom at 1 Government Ctr at 5:15 p.m. Court begins at 5:30 p.m. For a schedule of court dates, see Ballwin Municipal Court Dates. If you receive a ticket or summons for an ordinance violation in the City of Ballwin or Winchester you may:

  1. Please allow seven (7) business days before paying your ticket.
  2. Pay your fine by mail prior to the designated court date if the fine amount is listed on the Violation Bureau Schedule. Mail your payment to 1 Government Ctr, Ballwin, MO 63011. 
  3. Pay your fine in person anytime on weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Ballwin Government Center (1 Government Ctr) prior to your designated court date and if the fine amount is listed on the Violation Bureau Schedule.
  4. Contest the ticket in Court at 1 Government Ctr, on the date indicated at the top of your ticket.
  5. Make your check or money order payable to the City of Ballwin. DO NOT SEND CASH. WE DO NOT ACCEPT OUT OF STATE CHECKS.
  6. Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you wish to receive a receipt for the fine paid or for return of a driver’s license.
  7. A court appearance is required on any violation that resulted from an automobile accident.
  8. Some summonses and tickets require your appearance in court.  If your charge is not on the Violation Bureau Schedule, a court appearance may be required.  The following violations require a court appearance either in accordance with State law or by the order of the Ballwin Municipal Judge: 

Driving While Intoxicated
Driving While Suspended/Revoked
Speeding 25 miles per hour or more over the speed limit
Careless & Reckless Driving/Duty to Drive With Care
Any traffic offense involving an accident, including No Proof of Insurance
Stealing, Assault, Drug or Alcohol Possession, Trespassing, Housing Code Violations
Destruction of Property, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, etc. 

Failure to appear on your court date or pay your fine beforehand may result in the issuance of a warrant.

Message From Ballwin Municipal Court

You have been summoned to come to court on the date shown on your ticket.

You may plead not guilty by coming to court and a trial date will be set.

You may plead guilty by mail or by coming to the Ballwin court business office to pay your fine.

If you plead guilty, you will be given a new date to pay if you can’t pay the day of court.

If you want to plead guilty, but you don’t have the funds to pay your ticket, you still must come to court. You will not be arrested for not having money to pay.

If you are unable to pay the night of court, you can ask the judge to grant you a continuance for payment in full or to set up a payment plan.

If you do not come to court when summoned to do so, you are subject to a warrant being issued for your arrest.
