This Month's Message from the Mayor

Dear Friends,

On Monday, April 27th , it was my honor to preside over the installation of the members of the Board of Aldermen who won election or re-election on April 7th.

Congratulations to:

Ward 1 Aldermen: Michael Finley and Janet Rodriguez Judd

Ward 2 Alderman: Lori A. Kelling

Ward 3 Alderman: Frank Fleming

Ward 4 Alderman: David Siegel

I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the outstanding public servants who are members of your Board of Aldermen. They do an awesome job for all the citizens of Ballwin. Never hesitate to contact any of us with any questions, suggestions, complaints or concerns. We want to hear from you. Our contact information can be found here.

We're very excited to kick off the launch of our new program: Resident of the Year! And we need your help! Nominate your friends and neighbors who go above and beyond through service, leadership, kindness, and dedication to our city. Find out more information and nominate someone today by clicking here!

May marks the official start of summer! Nothing says summer in Ballwin better than the opening of the North Pointe Aquatic Center. On Saturday, May 23rd, North Pointe officially opens for the season! So, if you are ready for a relaxing float down the Lazy River, or a vigorous swim in the competition pool, come on up! Plus, keep a look out for the special events happening all summer long! You won’t want to miss the fun at Christmas in July, the Cardboard Boat Regatta, and the other fun events that our amazing Parks and Recreation staff is planning for this summer.

Over the last several months, residents have contacted the Board of Aldermen asking the City of Ballwin to stop fogging and find a better way to control the mosquito population in our neighborhoods. The Board heard your concerns and approved ending mosquito fogging this summer. We will still work with St. Louis County Vector Control in areas of high mosquito population and breeding. You can help by making sure that there is no standing water in your yard and taking other natural steps to hold down the mosquito population. You can get more information on best practices by clicking here.

Please bear with us this summer! Ballwin is investing record amounts in streets, sidewalks and our Parks and Recreation facilities this summer and fall. While these improvements will be great for our city, they do take time and the finished products will involve some disruptions and short-term inconveniences. Please bear with us, the final product will be worth it!

April marked one year that I have had the honor of serving as your mayor! It has been, and I am sure will continue to be, a wonderful experience! It has been an exciting and productive year for our city! I want to give a special thanks to everyone who welcomed me to your HOA meetings, special events, and school activities! I loved being with you and your neighbors!

I invite you to follow me on social media at #BallwinMayorMark to learn more about the exciting things happening in Ballwin!

Thank you,

Mayor Mark
