Welcome to April! Warmer weather and sunshine days are here, hopefully to stay! This Sunday is Easter. Children of all ages will be celebrating, enjoying good food with family and loved ones, and of course searching for candy!

It’s a great time to check out our great Ballwin Parks. There was a huge crowd at the Vlasis Park playground last weekend, and yes, the bathrooms are open! This spring will also see the growth of Vlasis Park with the addition of over an acre of greenspace to the park.

I want to take a moment to welcome the newest residents of the City of Ballwin! The Arbor Trails and Arbor Crest Subdivisions, along with Oak Brook Elementary School, are now a part of our great City as of April 1st. Please welcome your newest neighbors!

Well, as I am sure you have noticed it is election time in Ballwin! Next week the campaigning will be over, and the decisions will be up to you, the residents of Ballwin. We have three contested Aldermanic races this year. I strongly encourage all of you to take some time, learn about the candidates and cast your vote on April 7th . Your municipal officials are vital to making sure that Ballwin continues to be the amazing city it is today! Go out and cast your vote for the future of our city.

Did you see all the cars at the North Pointe Aquatic Center for the recycling events last month? This month we will have several events to help you clean out the basement. Check out the times and dates for the shred event, paint recycling event and electronic recycling event. Bring your stuff to the North Pointe and help us make a difference in our world for our children and grandchildren.

Summertime will be here before we know it! It’s less than two months until the North Pointe opens for the summer on May 23rd ! Are you ready to float down the Lazy River and enjoy the summer sun? If so, you can still get discounted North Pointe membership through the end of April. I will see you in the pool this summer! 

You will soon see lots of improvements happening around our city! I am proud to have led the way with your great Board of Aldermen to invest record amounts in our streets, sidewalks and parks. The renovations and upgrades are already underway at the Pointe at Ballwin Commons, and more including a new children’s play structure is planned for this summer. Plus, new electronic signage will bring attention to programs at the Pointe and at our great golf course. 

Finally, I am proud to report, that thanks to the unanimous action of the Board of Aldermen last month, the City of Ballwin will collect NO real estate taxes from Ballwin residents this year. 2026 marks the 39th year in a row, that the city has imposed no real estate taxes on our residents!
