This Month's Message from the Mayor
Dear Friends, It was great to see so many of you last week at the Annual Memorial Day Ceremony in Vlasis Park! It was a time to come together and remember those who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy in this great country. To honor those who died or were wounded in action, it was my honor to issue a proclamation, designating Ballwin as a Purple Heart City at the May Board of Aldermen meeting. As you know, Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer. The awesome North Pointe Aquatic Center opened to great crowds Memorial Day Weekend! Will we see you floating down the lazy river this summer? My son and I will be there! Another great Ballwin tradition continues in New Ballwin Park on June 3rd ! Our FREE summer concert continues with the sounds of the Luke Queen Band! Plus, local Boy Scouts will be there selling ice cream, pretzels and other treats. The concerts will be on Wednesday nights every two weeks through August 5th at 7:00 pm. Come on out and enjoy the beautiful park and the great music! Looking for some fun activities for your family this summer? Check out all the great programs and events offered by our awesome Parks and Recreation employees. One of the great parts of being your mayor is the opportunity to meet all of you at our local events and HOA meetings, and to join our great West County Chamber of Commerce in welcoming new business to Ballwin! In recent weeks it was my honor to welcome Waxing the City and the St. Louis Teachers’ Recycle Center to Ballwin. Plus, great new restaurants continue to look to Ballwin for their new home. Looking for anything from a quick lunch to a fancy night out, Ballwin restaurants have it to offer! Please mark your calendars for two great annual Ballwin events coming in the next few months:
