This Month's Message from the Mayor
Dear Friends, You can sure tell it is almost Spring in Ballwin! I went by the Ballwin Government Center to take care of some paperwork Friday afternoon. Walking in, it was great to see the awesome playground at Vlasis Park filled with kids and families having fun! While I know it is only March, we are probably not done with the cold weather, after all it is Missouri! The good news is Daylight Saving time starts on March 8th, and warmer days are just around the corner. This is the time of year we start thinking about our summer plans! Maybe you are planning a trip to a beach or a mountain cabin to enjoy the season. When you are home, the City of Ballwin is excited about the programs and activities we have planned for your family right here in Ballwin. The awesome North Pointe Aquatic Center will open Memorial Day weekend! Right now, the Ballwin Parks and Recreation Department is offering an early bird special on membership fees at the North Pointe. Stop on by The Pointe at Ballwin Commons to take advantage of the early bird pricing. Come join your fellow Ballwin residents floating down the lazy river this summer! Looking for something for your high school or college age children to do this summer? Or, if you are looking for something different for your summer, Ballwin may have the answer for you! We are now hiring for Lifeguards, Camp Counselors and other Summer Employees to help staff the North Pointe, Summer Camps and other summer activities. At the urging of numerous Ballwin residents, the Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to end the practice of mosquito fogging in Ballwin. We will be working with St. Louis County to control the mosquito population through other means.
